The number one purpose of religion is to build trust among people so they can communicate properly and work together.

It is not wrong to make people earn our trust. Evolution has declared over and over again that it only makes sense. Although, all people should be respected.

What we know as religion today was adapted to the small towns of the past. Back when the world’s population was much smaller and people did not travel as much,.. if at all. Anyone who has ever tried to move into a small town knows how hard it is to gain acceptance. A process made a little easier if the person engaged in the local religious rituals.

Today, there are so many people and everyone travels about so much, there is no process available to effectively build trust. Thus, we see trust erode and our society falling apart.

The old religions must be adapted to allow people to build trust again, so they can communicate properly and work together effectively.
