Empathy is a weakness,.. unless it is used with the intent to build a relationship or community. Then, empathy is God.

I have a vision of a successful civilization, one hundred thousand years in the making.

There are seven necessary layers to maintain our civilization.

The primary four are air, water, food, and shelter, which are natural layers for our survival.

The manufactured three layers are currency and communication (technology), which are artificial layers for the success of our communities.

No, the word three is not a typo. The third layer in that list is Community. Currency and advanced communication technologies have become necessary layers for the success of the necessary layer of Community.

These layers must be managed by serious people and institutions that intend to serve civilization and not shareholders.

The illusion of capitalism and communism is that if you manage property a certain way, the community’s structure will be incidentally managed appropriately. This obviously does not happen. What does happen is that more and more money and resources are used to maintain a police force to control people, without their understanding, awareness, or approval.

The truth is that a community has to be managed all on its own. Maintaining a community is no different than maintaining a source of clean water, or the Internet network. It should be a goal of its own, without the corruption of other interests.

So, now,.. Imagine a society that has several religious institutions working together to maintain the society. Each with their own clergy dedicated to practicing their rituals and routines that maintain a necessary layer. Priests of water. Priests of air, shelter, and currency. All similar in self discipline and intent that we see in the current priests of Community.

Certainly this will not emerge any time soon. We are still wrestling with the use of one religion as a tool. The world has become too complex for there to be only one religion, serving God in one way. Currently, we are witnessing the new religion of Currency trying to usurp the world with the intent to be the only true religion. Thus, there will be many rises and falls before we can begin to address our survival as the primary function of civilization.

Until then, the primary purpose of civilization will be viewed as for our entertainment.
