Imagine that the president is not a leader, but just an actor hired to play the role of leader. Imagine that it has been this way for decades. Since 1980, at least. It only stands to reason; a modern country is far more complex than what it was two hundred years ago, not to mention a modern country that is also a global leader. No one in their right mind would leave all that up to one person. Especially a person who was selected by the general public. No, it is certain, the world is not what it seems.
So then. Here we are at a crossroads. All of the other countries are advancing rapidly. The world’s population is exploding. For one reason or another, the climate is shifting. To survive and remain competitive in this world radical changes need to be made. Unfortunately, our country has experienced eighty years of economic success, and at least half of the population thinks being stagnant and unchanged is the best way to maintain that success. Miserably, those same people have a lot of guns. So, how do we go about making the changes we need? Smoke and mirrors, of course.
Out of the blue we started hearing of illegal immigrants doing dangerous and peculiar things. No evidence. Just hearsay. Out of the blue gender becomes a massive issue. A minority much smaller than the smallest minority all of a sudden becomes the largest of all concerns. Why? Nothing gets played on the media without approval, and nothing gets repeated over and over again without financial support.
For decades we have watched as the media and politicians manufacture and exaggerate threats in order to pass certain budgets and laws. Mostly about foreign countries being a threat so military spending could be increased. Now, the problem is different. It is of wanting the stubborn American people to accept specific changes to their lives. Not only did they need to create a threat to people’s property (illegal immigrants), but to their very identity (gender). And once they believe their property and identity is sufficiently threatened, only then can they be offered the approved solutions.
For forty years we have had Presidents who played the role of figurehead to the public. Their job was to make the public complacent despite the fact that behind the scenes certain agencies were continuously moving in the same direction. Now, we have a President with a salesman personality, whose number one job is the sell to the American public solutions to the problems that were so unscrupulously created.
You might ask why this perspective gives me optimism. Because I am an evolutionist. I see us being in a technological feudal period. The Feudal Age, unsavory as it was, was a necessary stepping stone in civilization’s evolution. Also, it is far better to think that people are working behind the scenes with a purpose, no matter what that purpose is, than to believe that everything in our current world is exactly as it appears on the surface.
There is no need to worry. Everything is always evolving. One phase is always followed by another.
