Everything is becoming gamed for optimisation. It is not just war, banking, and insurance. Now, it is all over the roadways, and I believe I just witnessed an evolution.

I am very familiar with the insurance fraud technique of having a person tailgating me in an effort to distract, while the person in front of me randomly slams on the brakes. For this reason I never follow anyone too closely.

Over the holiday I had the experience of a swarm of cars driving recklessly around me from up behind. Like a swarm of bees weaving and swerving in and out. And in the chaos the car in front of the car in front of me slammed on the brakes. There is no way that the car in front of me was not in on the game, because it was tailgating the car in front of it that slammed on the brakes. The only way it did not hit the car in front of it was that they were in communication.

Throughout all this my senses were not tingling. I got no sense of actual rage. You know… they way you feel when sitting at a restaurant, a table away from a couple trying to have a quiet argument.

I suspect that it was supposed to look like road rage. The goal would be to make me slam into the car in front of me, while the car who caused the accident drives away with the other bees. Leaving me on the hook.

Fortunately, I am starting to drive more and more like an old man.
