Everyone must go through periods of being a leader and being a follower. It is the environment and situation that dictate when, where, and how these periods occur. The will of the individual can only be in response to the environment and situation.

While both conditions are damaging, the person who fails to transition from follower to leader when needed is always less damaging than the person who fails to transition from leader to follower.
