Corruption is an evolutionary pressure that limits how far and fast knowledge can advance in a given period of time.

Corruption makes it necessary for people to continuously relearn and reassert what is true. If knowledge advances too far and too fast in a given time frame, then people are not able to keep up and become victims of fraud.

Mythology has been the most effective way to “fix” what is perceived to be the truth into a culture. To the people of the time, past mythologies probably held much more truth than we understand in them today. Nonetheless, our knowledge has advanced so far that those mythologies are still outdated.
