Mohandas Gandhi taught the world that social structures were dependent on the environment. The Alpha Pack social structure, or Dominance Hierarchy, that the British Empires was structured on depends on a hostile and violent environment. Without a hostile and violent environment the Alpha Pack structure is not only unnecessary, but weak and ineffective.

Which brings us to the problem of our epoch. Not just our generation or our era, but the problem we have been facing for millennia. How do we evolve past the ingrained conditioning of the Alpha Pack social structure? Especially when so many people are willing to go to great lengths to create a hostile and violent environment simply because it is what they feel most comfortable in. Like a firefighter who is also an arsonist.

The internet, media and social media, is flooded with people trying to scare everyone in one way or another. Most fall into line, blaming one group or another for the perceived threats. (The opposing perceived threats of illegal immigrants, versus the people who blame illegal immigrants both pressure the same Dominance Hierarchy.) It is the gross minority who are simply trying to figure out if the threats that are being advertised are real or not. Indeed, the very notion of “Influencer” is based on an Alpha Pack mentality. Which is why so many influencers go to great lengths to manufacture a need for their perceived dominance.

This is all tied to a very deep reflex to make everything fit into a social structure that feels natural to us. The familiar feeling gives us the illusion that we understand what is happening. However, if we do not evolve past Dominance Hierarchy in situations where it is no longer the best social structure we will exterminate ourselves.
