Each piece of art we see adds to the lexicon of our imagination. Some works of art are so impactful they can even influence the structure of our imagination.

You can tell most painter’s work by so many tiny details. The brush strokes, the color palette, and subject matter. A painting seldom needs to be signed to know for sure.

For a society to function properly, there must be people who live for the community. Their daily lives are their art. They are distinguish by the tiny details they maintain. Their behavior, demeanor, and attitude. The way they engage with others. These things make them instantly recognizable.

These artists, these members of a culture’s royalty, are necessary; as is evident by how easily and eager the public is to place others on a pedestal. They are not needed to be leaders of policy or dictators of morality, but to be avatars within the public’s imagination. To add to the lexicon of the public’s imagination images of a community member. And when the times are difficult enough, and the person effective enough, they can even give structure to the public’s imagination.

This is an extremely important evolved trait of human societies. Because, it is from our imagination that we make our connections and build our lives.
