It is a fact of life that as we get older our options get stripped away from us. Each choice we make closes the door on options we will never get to experience, and each stage of our life introduces restrictions we have no control over.
It is normal and healthy to fight against our options being taken away, but we can fight too hard. If we never make a choice or a commitment that focuses our intention, there is no point in having any options at all to begin with.
In life we must keep as many options open as possible, with respect to our identity and integrity, until we have a vision of what we want. Then we must make the sacrifice of choice and proceed towards our goals with focus and intent.
