Nature is not concerned with right and wrong, or good and evil. These are human concepts created to give ourselves permission. Nature only cares about what works; what functions properly. The trick to this is that Nature, and all of its interwoven ecosystems, is extremely complex with a million billion interactive variables. The human mind, seeing one or two of these variables going from functional to nonfunctional, creates the illusion of right and wrong.
Human societies are complex ecosystems that require millions of intricate and interactive variables to be functional. One such variable in a functioning society is what I will call “Masculine stubborn independence.” However, for this Stubborn Independence to be functional it must be paired with another variable called “Unconditional Resolve.” The easiest example of these variables can be seen in Ernest Hemingway. He displayed the epitome of Masculine Stubborn Independence, but only because he also displayed Unconditional Resolve.
We are watching our society become nonfunctional because there are so many people, of both genders, who try to display Stubborn Independence,.. but, when the time comes to pay the bill, when the path of their life’s choices leads to a singular conclusion, they are unwilling to look down the barrel of that shotgun.
Stubborn Independence without Unconditional Resolve is just spoiled children demanding attention.
