All civilizations begin and end with a flood.

When the energy level rises, barriers become porous or disappear altogether. When the barriers go down the only thing that separates us from the animals is the individual choice to control our own behavior.

When a gentleman argues with a lady, he works to maintain the choice to keep his arms by his side. He could win the argument with just one punch, but that would work against building a more civilized world.

No one can be forced to remain civilized, they must choose of their own accord. That choice is enabled by having a vision of a possible future that gives them a sense of purpose.

All civilizations begin and end with a flood.
