A vision of Grand Theory
begets visions of Practical Theory,
which beget visions of Scientific Theory.
Scientific Theories lead us to Facts.
Each Fact discovered, and accepted, is contained with a cone of probability that begins with a particular Grand Theory. To discover a fact well outside our current cone of probability, we must begin with a new, expanded Grand Theory. To discover a fact only slightly outside our current cone of probability, simply alter a current practical theory.
To expect large, substantive changes without changing the source of our perspective is naive and ill-fated.
