Imagine, if you will, an individual floating by itself in empty space. No light to be seen, no sounds to be heard, and nothing to touch. Born into this position and never knowing anything else. Very much like René Descartes once imagined. Only, this time imagine that this individual is itself a universe… Our universe.
Within this universe flows an energy not yet discovered by science. This energy is much like any other in the universe except for the one trait of having what can only be described as being conscious. As the universe has never interacted with anything, much less another universe, it is not intelligent, nor even sentient. Inside the universe, however, the presence of the conscious energy has a basic physics that affects how material interacts and life evolves. Just as our eyes evolved to utilize the electromagnetic energy we call light, life continues to evolve brains to utilize this conscious energy. But, this is only the beginning.
The physical nature of the energy allows for individuals who attain a certain level of awareness to maintain their consciousness as energy; apart from any body. It is a difficult step that requires a billion failures before success. The consciousness of individuals who cannot make the leap will race to attach itself to a biological life form after death, as a reflex, like a ship racing to port before a storm. As a result, our world has developed a hierarchy in biological life based on an individual’s experience with awareness and reincarnation.
In this process there is no greater influence on an individual’s growth than their mother. A mother creates a bubble of conscious energy that her children grow up in. If the mother is aware of herself, she will have a belief system that enables her to be mature and responsible with her emotions, maximizing her effectiveness at nurturing her children. This not only allows the children to learn from their experiences, but teaches them such control as well. If she is not aware she still has a bubble, but the children learn solely from their own experience. No belief system is perfect, as they all are evolving as well. Some belief systems will only help people a little and others are worse than nothing at all, but they all must continuously adapt to the changing environment.
Many will think that being a mother is the final biological stage before making the leap to pure conscious energy, but this is not true. Being a mother is only the first step in the hierarchy of community builders; an important foundation for community builders. We all start as individuals only concerned with our own survival and well being. Then we become community builders who see our own individual form as an integrated part of a greater whole. As we climb the ranks, becoming a part of larger and larger communities, we leave the body because we understand it as the natural next step.
For the individuals who make the leap, evolution continues. Outside of the body, individuals build experience and make larger and larger communities with others to develop a greater influence in the universe, both physically and behaviorally, in the pursuit of perfect awareness. Lesser, biological life might see these higher individuals as angels or Gods, and those “Gods” are wise enough to not correct them. The truth is that there is no one in control.
The best theory is that, in the end, individuals will evolve and grow their awareness until it fills the universe, and at that moment the universe will become sentient as an individual. However, it does not matter what we believe to be true, so long as it nurtures a maturity and responsibility that enables our evolving awareness.
