For some decades, our vision of our society has been deteriorating. Exponentially becoming less communal, less social, and more individualistic. Brutal individualism. Never mind the illusion social media creates.

A single person alone can be rigid to their vision, if they build strong barriers.

A couple must share their visions and be willing to adapt to one another. True equality begins with the perceived value of each others visions.

A good leader projects a vision of a large community, or society. That vision must include room for people to build their own visions within it. It is, after all, the people’s vision of their own lives that manifests a society, not the will of a charismatic leader.

A society is a fractal manifestation of visions. A leader cannot be specific about the details of people’s lives. Only hint at who they might become if they work together. Then, if the vision is sound, the people will align themselves and succeed in the most surprising and creative ways. If a dishonest leadership, acting as an individual, tries to use charisma and force to make people fit into their vision, they will only make a short-lived illusion of success that will end with their authority.

The trick that is hidden from the arrogant is that visions are communicated and shared more through actions and behaviors than they are words. This is how people invite their own success or failure.
