Our environment is fundamental to our perception. Changes in our environment alter our perception… even if we are not paying attention.
We can say the same thing over and over again, uncertain if we are being heard; we can try to explain an idea in many different ways, in our effort to be understood; like pounding our heads against a wall, or rolling a boulder up a hill, in eternal frustration. Then, one day, the environment will shift just enough, in just the right way, so slightly that no one notices except for the fact that people begin to understand, like a bolt of lightning, that which had been repeated to them for an eternity.
Experience is the foundation of understanding.
