The poor see the truth. The rich only see position and status.

As we experience the materialistic, narcissistic, and greedy structure of our society collapse around us, it is easy to allow our reflexes to try preventing it effecting us by hoarding survival paraphernalia. Unfortunately, that only reinforces the old decaying structure, and aligns us with the collapse.

It takes far more intelligence to read the environment and figure out how to survive by only doing what is necessary, than to get straight A’s and do everything perfectly as we are told. And it takes far more creativity to make the few things we own satisfy all of our needs, than to design and build complex technical marvels with unlimited resources.
