Nothing is perfect. All people are flawed, and thus, the families and communities and societies we make are also flawed. Visions of perfection, put forth by religions, philosophers, and fiction writers are just models, reference points. They are never meant to be followed exactly. To follow such a model exactly would require reducing the value of people, of the public, and eventually seeing them as a barrier to perfection. The public, and all of their flaws, must always have the highest value; a foundation for societies to build around. Nothing is perfect. That is why we continue to evolve. If we found perfection, our evolution would stop.
