Philosophy is a form of art.
Artists build complex structures to express how they perceive their experiences in the world.
Painters and photographers express themselves with structures of shape and color.
Musicians express themselves with structures of sound.
Poets express themselves with word structures of emotion.
Comedians use word structures of logic, but only to make people laugh.
Philosophers also use word structures of logic, but care only of true context.
A journalist pursues true context only in the present material sense.
A historian pursues true context in the past material sense.
A spiritualist pursues true context in the metaphysical.
A philosopher pursues true context in the present material and metaphysical.
There is a difference between someone who is trained in their art and someone who is not. Those who are untrained are called folk artists.
Folk art is just as important as trained art. The process of evolution steadily creeps forward by many tiny steps, with occasional large single leaps forwards. Generally, the tiny steps are made by trained artists and the large leaps are made by folk artists.
There are trained philosophers and folk philosophers.
The difference between artist, art historian, and art critic is well known, while the difference between philosopher, philosophy historian, and philosophy critic is not commonly understood.
