We all have the potential to get caught up in the energy of our desires, only to crash into a deep guilt afterwards that leaves us scrambling to cover ourselves; both physically and with lies.

Even to the point where we build a complex belief system to justify our actions.

The questions, that locate us on the spectrum, are how extremely we experience it and how effective we are at hiding it.

The great lesson of such events as WWII is that this condition is fractal: Nations, religions, and cultures can experience this too.

This is why freedom of speech is so important, along with a culture of open and inclusive communication.
