Competition is constant. It cannot be eliminated.

There is good competition – that challenges and helps people to grow – and bad competition – that undermines and suppresses people’s growth. Many people do not know the difference. It is not taught in our schools.

The current social climate is a fight between good competition and bad competition. Toxic people are insisting that all social competition is bad, attacking anyone who tries to engage in social competition at all. This is very good for people who already know who they are and have attained a good position.

In the past, this same thing required a secret police force to beat up and intimidate people in the streets. Now it is all done online. The world surely has become efficient.

It is possible to compete softly.
It is possible to compete with dignity, civility, and humility.
It is even possible to compete with empathy.

Freedom begins with the knowledge that competition is constant.
