Everyone is a storyteller, in one form or another. The people who write stories are only telling stories within stories.
There are two interwoven variables to being a good storyteller. The first is to have the courage to be honest about our own shame, guilt, and insecurities; even if we choose to disguise it under layers of fiction. The second is to only tell stories about ourselves.
- Telling stories about other people makes our lives revolve around them, and gives all of our power to them.
- People start telling stories about other people because they are trying to avoid responsibility for their own shame, guilt, and insecurities… usually in an effort to project it all onto those other people.
