It seems, according to the media, that the concept of clearheaded science and management is only for those with authority. Everyone else is supposed to be afraid and reactively do as they are told. I know science will become a religion, but I guess only after the perception of science is used as a weapon.
It is important to follow the rules, so long as they make sense and are reasonable, but it is more important to not let fear make our choices for us.
