Evolution is driven by the cycle of feast and famine. During the feast we explore and create, and when the famine comes we have to throw away all that has no value. This includes theories and beliefs; both scientific and fantastic. The process of shifting between feast and famine is always tumultuous. And, only after the famine passes will we be aware of how much we assumed to be true today was actually modern myth.
