It was not that bad a storm,
but the neighbor has a tree down on their house.
I spent the day keeping busy with simple chores,
punctuated by looking out the window at the trees,
wondering if they would hold.
I thought of checking the internet and social media,
but starting off agitated is not a good way to log on.
Eighty percent of my town is without power,
but mine never even flickered.
I don’t know how;
the road is closed in one direction
and a tree is resting on the lines in the other.
There are a million billion twigs to pick up.
