A serious problem I see today is that too many people have become handcuffed by the idea that their own behavior must always make sense to them. Thus, they deteriorate because they refuse to do anything they don’t fully understand or can explain.

We must always work to find balance in our environment, but the environment does not need to always make sense. Nature is not sitting in her parlor, looking out the window and worrying that people might not understand her.

All other individuals, animals and human beings alike, are first and foremost elements of our environment.

We are all born objects, and over a lifetime we are given the opportunity to discover ourselves as something more. If we are very lucky, we find one other to help us with this endeavor. If it is a special relationship, over an entire lifetime, we can begin to know ourselves as part of a larger whole.
