From the earliest age we are trained to keep busy. A steady flow of toys and games as children, and endless homework and sports through our teenage years. The idea is to develop our minds healthy habits, but it goes too far and conditions us to stay busy to the point where we do not know how to sit still and relax…. Which, it turns out, is just as deadly as a bad diet and toxic habits.

Learning how to process doubt without being self-destructive is something that should be taught in all schools.

The younger me spent his evening in pubs, watching his mind wander around over a beer. The older me does the same thing, but in morning bakeries over coffee with a notebook to catch the thoughts so they don’t have to go round and round for an eternity.

The world is composed mostly of people who go to great lengths to make their world revolve around them and their views. It takes maturity and sacrifice to have an equal and balanced relationship with the world.

Will you have the courage to let things evolve into the unknown? Or, will you work tirelessly, spending all of your time, energy and resources, to keep things “normal.”
