There are people in this world who get what they want by being in the way, and then screaming foul when others try to go around, through, or over them. They are called obstructionists.
How we deal with these people depends on the political environment. For the past few decades, the best thing to do was to sit perfectly still until they lost interest and looked for someone else to disrupt.
However, we are quickly coming to a time when we will need to defend ourselves from their overly aggressive actions based on their insistence that they are victims.
This is the evolution of the obstructionist:
- First, they take advantage of those who easily fall for their tricks.
- Then, they spend more and more of their time looking for new victims and greater rewards. A process that requires them steadily growing more and more aggressive.
- Lastly, they become so aggressive they convince themselves that everyone is against them, thus any and all war is justified.
