Sustainability will only return to this planet if humans stop traveling and moving around, stay connected with their families, and start taking care of the land they are living on over generations.

Also, living in extended family multi-generation conditions will mean that the unbalanced ones will be looked after and not left alone to go completely off the rails.

Such responsibility is the burden of the future.

(Along with this, to enable it, people will need to return to some form of ancestor worship.)
