We have the option to evolve forward by Choice or by Random Chance. Relying completely on religion or science and technology to guide us into the future is not “Choice”, but “Random Chance” in different directions.

Getting a divorce is a reaction and not a choice. Staying married despite the differences and work is maintaining a choice. Or, having a drink is a reaction; remaining sober despite the anxiety and sense of social isolation is maintaining a choice.

Bureaucracy is maintaining a choice. The corruption or disregard of an established procedure or routine, which has been proven to be effective, is the result of random chance and itself proof of foul play.

There are many people who are very kind when they are insecure because they are making choices about their behavior, but as they gain confidence their abusiveness emerges as a result of resting on natural instincts.

When stupid and abusive people make secret plans, they eventually react personally by punishing and eliminating the intelligent people who are able to see the course of events and choose to work against them.

Those intelligent people must maintain their choice to continue their work and resist the reaction to run and hide.
