Humans are indeed political creatures, thus the truth of masculinity and femininity are forever changing in a constant battle for political dominance.

There are just as many women who are intimidated by smart and confident men as there are men intimidated by smart and confident women.

Any person, or society, who has adapted to a hostile/competitive environment is going to have a hard time adjusting to a friendly/nurturing environment. Any person who spends most of their time in a competitive office is going to have a very hard time switching to the nurturing home environment. And vice versa.
