Money is a tool,
no different than a hammer.
It can be used to build a house,
or tear one down.
It can also be used to build a wall,
kill an enemy, or open a beer bottle.

Logic is a tool,
just like a shovel.
It can be used to build a mountain,
and carve out a road.
It can be used to make levees, dikes, and canals
to protect us from, and manage,
all the water flowing in and through our lives.
Oh, and it can also be used to dig a grave;
our own or someone else’s.

Faith is a tool,
same as a telephone.
It can be used to bring
and hold people together, or
it can be used to pester and harass
those we would enslave or push away.

Religions are complex formulas of
rites, rituals, and routines
built from all three of these tools.
